Following nearly four decades of work in the field of elementary education, Mr. Haugen returned to an old love – painting. In pursuit of honing his long dormant skills, he attended several regional seminars and clinics and studied with renowned New York painter Greg Kreutz. He worked primarily in oils and the Wisconsin farm landscape was the central focus of his work. The constantly changing skies, along with the nuances of color found within the undulating hills of Wisconsin’s farmland, served as a constant inspiration for the artist.
